Notaro Care Homes are recruiting for a weekend Activities Assistant to work at their ARBD Care Home, Serenita. Serenita provides specialist support for individuals living with mental health problems such as Korsakoff’s syndrome and the effects of Alcohol-Related Brain Damage.
As an Activities Assistant, you will provide meaningful, fun, and varied activities in all shapes and sizes, supporting residents living at Serenita to build and maintain important life skills. Your primary focus is to promote and ensure a stimulating environment in which the emotional, social, physical, and intellectual needs of every resident are met.
Residents living at Serenita require reablement to assist them with getting their lives back on track. They need someone with high motivation levels, who will interact and engage with them on a personal but professional level; someone who can achieve trust and be a strong, positive presence.
Duties Include:
- Supporting the Activities Coordinator to run a weekly activities programme for the care home, organising group and personalised activities to fulfil the residents' needs. This includes outings in the community, therefore a driving licence is preferred but not essential.
- Ensuring the residents are receiving the highest quality care and are occupied throughout their day, including regular resident visits to establish any wants or concerns they may have.
- Ensuring risk assessments have been carried out ahead of activities and outings.
- Keeping records and care plans up to date.
- Assisting with producing monthly newsletters and photographing events within the home.
- Plus additional administrative tasks as per the job description.

The Right Person:
- Must be able to demonstrate your ability to work as a team member and on your own initiative.
- Must complete all training and be prepared to attend such training sessions as are deemed necessary by the management.
- A full UK drivers’ licence and willingness to drive our company minibus is preferred but not essential.
