The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.

As one of our Vehicle Mechanics, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our JP Rentals Division. You will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are in top working condition for our customers. Your technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail will be crucial in delivering outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • General repairs and maintenance for a wide range of vehicles across different makes and models.
  • Routine vehicle servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
  • Diagnostics to identify and troubleshoot faults in engine management systems, electrical systems, braking systems, etc.
  • Preparing vehicles for MOT to meet the required standards for MOT testing, including repairs and replacements to pass inspections.
  • Tyre fitting, balancing tyres, conducting wheel alignments, and inspecting tyre condition to ensure safety and performance.
  • Work closely with other team members to maintain smooth daily operations in a busy environment.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent qualification).
  • Proven experience in vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and repair, ideally with multi-fleet vehicles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and address complex technical issues.
  • Attention to detail, with high standards in both the quality of work and safety, ensuring vehicles are roadworthy.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms to non-technical team members or customers.
  • Experience working to deadlines and achieving set goals.
  • A positive and proactive approach to your work, with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership over your tasks.
  • An effective team player who is equally capable of working independently, demonstrating the flexibility to collaborate within a team while also taking initiative and ownership of tasks when working alone.
