Description
We are currently recruiting for a well-established client in Manchester who is seeking a hands-on and experienced Payroll Manager to accurately prepare clients\’ monthly pay runs in a timely manner. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be the first point of contact for client payroll communication and responsible for processing payroll submissions to HMRC.
The main responsibilities include:
- Monthly payroll preparation
- Annual payroll processing
- Payroll onboarding
- Monthly pension submissions
- Benefit in kind management
- Ad-hoc duties
Specific tasks will involve:
- Calculating SMP/SPP/SSP and submitting claims to HMRC
- Reconciling wages, pensions, and PAYE
- Managing year-end statutory payroll processes
- Submitting auto-enrollment contributions and managing opt-ins/outs
- Updating on legislative changes
- Training staff members
- Collaborating with tax specialists on complex payroll issues
The ideal candidate will engage effectively with clients, structure workflows independently, and have experience with Xero accounting software.
