Our client, a household name in the restaurant industry expanding its presence in Europe, is looking for a Privacy Consultant to lead their EU privacy efforts. With a focus on evaluating and enhancing their privacy program, this role involves conducting gap assessments, identifying risks, and managing vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have experience in privacy, be comfortable working independently, and possess strong investigative skills to help create a comprehensive data map. This long-term, open-ended contract position, based in a regional HQ in London, offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company\’s privacy strategy. The role requires regular office presence, strong operational privacy prowess, and superior soft skills to build meaningful cross-functional partnerships across the business. Responsibilities: Supports the ongoing development and implementation of company\’s global privacy program Conducts and validates risk assessments including, but not limited to, Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and Record of Processing Activities (RoPAs) for projects, personal information data holdings, technologies/systems, processes, and third-party data sharing activities, to help identify, evaluate and mitigate/manage privacy risks Specific to technological risks, assesses if system controls meet basic criteria, identify any gaps, evaluates the completeness of information, identifies issues that require further investigation, methodically monitors remediation activities with attention to quality, accuracy, and timeliness, and document results and outcomes accordingly Assists in the development and maintenance of data maps and inventories and data flows Works closely with other members of the privacy team, the business and technical partners to develop and apply privacy program plans and processes that comply with applicable laws, facilitate PbD concepts, and the NIST Privacy framework tooperations, enterprise programs and systems Develops and supports change management processes to ensure documentation remains up-to-date Assists with the processing of Data Subject Requests Develops and delivers privacy training to employees and business partners Assists in the deployment of privacy tools Assists in the deployment and maintenance of our cookie compliance activities and auditing cookie and similar technologies deployed by our sites and apps If candidate is an attorney, negotiates data protection agreements Preferred Skills and Qualifications: Professional communication skills in German and / or French Recognized privacy, security, and / or AI certifications (for example CIPP/E, CIPT, CIPM, or similar) Expert knowledge of the DPA, GDPR, PECR and other privacy, security, and AI legislation relevant to the UK and EEA Experience with the use of Generative AI and LLMs Previous experience evaluating and assessing privacy risks for a consumer facing business / tech platforms If candidate is an attorney, previous experience negotiating technology contracts #LI-MF1 #LI-HYBRID #J-18808-Ljbffr
