Your Role

You will be based in a college environment led by Specialist Tutors and Learning Support Workers. This is a fantastic setting for those leaving school at 16 to access specialist further education. It supports them with any learning or communication difficulties, providing additional therapy and behaviour support through a multi-disciplinary team.

Duties

  • As the Children’s Residential Service Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the care team.
  • Your role will involve overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering a trauma-informed and supportive care environment for the Children & Young People living here.
  • Staff management, leadership, and managing shift patterns.
  • Delivering a high-quality, outcomes-driven service.
  • Maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Providing excellent leadership and mentorship to the staff team.
  • Supporting staff well-being and professional development.
  • Conducting inductions, supervisions, and appraisals.

Criteria

  • At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience in Children’s Residential Childcare.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent.
  • Or willingness to work towards this qualification.

Compliance

Successful applicants will be subject to pre-employment safeguarding checks, including an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, which means job applicants must declare all convictions and cautions (including those "spent" unless "protected" under DBS filtering rules) to assess their suitability to work with children.
