We're a co-operative, which means that we are run by our members for the benefit of the local communities that we serve.
Scotmid food's aim is to be Scotland's preferred community convenience retailer, and a key factor in achieving this is through our people. Our stores are open from early in the morning to late at night, so a flexible approach is essential. No two days are the same, and our Customer Service Assistants enjoy working at a fast pace, doing a variety of tasks from making breakfast rolls to filling the shelves.
As a Customer Service Assistant, your priority is making sure our customers have a great experience every time they visit the store, through friendly service, great product availability, and first-class hygiene standards. You will be required to prepare and serve various products which could include raw and cooked meat, alcohol, and foods containing allergens. You will also be on your feet for long periods of time, and many of our roles will involve some lifting, carrying, and other tasks such as stock merchandising and cleaning.
If you have enthusiasm, a passion for customer service, and excellent communication skills, we would love to hear from you. This role will focus on preparing food on our Food to Go counter. Training will be provided, but experience in a sales or retail environment would be an advantage, as would previous knowledge of food safety practices.
We are passionate about supporting, challenging, and developing people to be the best they can. With excellent benefits, competitive hourly rates, and opportunities to develop and grow, a Customer Service Assistant position with Scotmid could be your first step to a long-term career in retail.
