The role will require the development of the Kettering residential and small residential plots agency, making us an agency of choice when vendors are considering sales. You will be responsible for ensuring excellence in the sale of residential property in this area of Northamptonshire.

Common work activities carried out will typically include:

  • Visiting clients to advise them on their properties
  • Providing marketing reports and guide prices for sales
  • Obtaining instructions
  • Writing particulars of sale
  • Discharging the instruction in a timely and well communicated manner
  • Ensuring completion of sales with solicitors, and the payment of fees
  • Generating articles on the residential agency market, writing advisory leaflets, technical notes and press releases
  • Briefing and communicating effectively to potential and existing clients, professional introducers of work, and all staff within the practice
  • Marketing and promoting the organisation to new clients and other professions, whilst maintaining existing client relationships
  • Researching and keeping up to date with any relevant property developments
  • General administrative duties, being responsible for the Kettering agency budget, managing fee targets, updating sales information and processes and preparing reports
  • Understanding the business of Berrys and cross-selling opportunities to practitioners in other core areas of our business
  • Managing agency staff and standards
  • Managing marketing strategies
  • Maintaining your training and knowledge to current RICS / NAEA standards for residential agency

You will be a positive and confident self-starter who will work with a small team to obtain, generate and complete instructions. The job requires a personable, friendly and assertive ability to communicate well at all levels in changing and sometimes challenging situations. You should have the ability to initiate relationships with existing and new clients, and take decisions and instructions through from the start to a timely completion. The position requires a results orientated approach. You will be working with and achieving objectives through enthusiastic perseverance, communication and teamwork in a fast-moving environment.

The position requires an existing knowledge and proven ability as a negotiator and residential agency manager with excellent communication skills. An ability to manage people, financial management, including an agency budget and act unsupervised. To manage and mentor trainees. Professional subscriptions and CPD training will be provided by Berrys. The training requirements for the agency faculty of the RICS or NAEA will be complied with. Appropriate experience in agency is required if these qualifications are not currently held.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, to be worked flexibly Monday-Friday.

The role sits within a friendly and supportive team with opportunities to develop. We will offer an excellent salary for the right candidate reflective of your skills, qualifications and experience. We will pay all the appropriate professional memberships and fund your attendance at relevant CPD events and time off for approved training. We provide a Private Healthcare scheme for all. We provide an entitlement of 35 days holiday per annum (pro rata to working hours) inclusive of bank holidays. An additional day off to celebrate your Birthday.
