Anticipated full-time appointment. Located at the Queensbury Elementary School, Special Class. Effective asap, 10 month position, 7 hours per day. Starting salary: $15.59 per hour, actual salary based on education and experience pursuant to the wage schedule posted on the district's website.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS
- Provides non-teaching services under the general supervision of certified personnel.
- Supervises students & performs such other services as supporting teaching duties when such services are determined and supervised by a teacher.
- Works with individuals or small groups to review progress in remedial reading or mathematics comprehension.
- Attends to physical care tasks and health-related activities as appropriate, including but not limited to:
- Lifts, moves, and operates adaptive equipment.
- Lifts and rotates students as necessary.
- Assists students with personal care tasks, including but not limited to, lavatory, clothing, hygiene, diapering, toileting, and wash-up routines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Significant standing; some walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling. Must have the ability to lift 60 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential tasks. Must pass written and physical Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Strategies (TCIS) tests and maintain TCIS certification.
