We are recruiting a minimum of 2 full-time or 4 part-time Care Assistants (female) to provide care and support to people living in Monkseaton, Cullercoats, and surrounding areas (NE25, NE26 & NE30).

If you are the kind of person that can make people smile while visiting them in their home, then a Care Assistant with Be Caring could be the right fit for you. You do not need a degree or care qualifications to be a Care Assistant, but you will need the right values. Each day is varied, and you will need to have a can-do attitude.

Pay: £12.00 p/hr (drivers) & £11.50 p/hr (walkers)

Mileage - 45p per mile for drivers / 20p per mile for cyclists

Bonus schemes: up to £300 new starter, £300 Refer a Friend, £300 annual bonus, £25 birthday gift voucher.

As a Care Assistant for Be Caring, your working hours will be aligned to our shift patterns, which for this role include early starts, late evening, and weekend working:

  • Full days: 7am - 2pm then 2pm - 10pm
  • Working alternate weekends

We will agree on your working pattern, setting a 2-week rota which includes:

  • Alternate weekends your working hours
  • Evenings as agreed

Job Description:

You may already have many of the skills needed to make an excellent Care Assistant for Be Caring. Patience, empathy, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively are all essential qualities for this role.

As a Care Assistant working within Monkseaton, Cullercoats, and surrounding areas (NE25, NE26 & NE30), you will:

  • Provide personal care that protects people's dignity.
  • Promote independence using enabling approaches.
  • Support people to meet their outcomes, involving families and professionals.
  • Connect people to their communities accessing local support and services.
  • Deliver personalised care through individual choice and control.
  • Be a strong and effective communicator, documenting, reporting, and sharing information with the right people at the right time.

Induction Training:

We are looking for people with Be Caring values to join our team. For this role, you do not need care experience; we recognise you will have many transferable skills from previous roles, for example, as a shop assistant. We will provide you with the training you need to be an outstanding Care Assistant.

As a Care Assistant for Be Caring, you will be provided with comprehensive induction training on:

  • Be Caring values, going Above & Beyond to meet personal outcomes.
  • Dignity and respect, safeguarding, and equality and diversity.
  • Confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Fluids and nutrition and safe administration of medication.
  • Moving and positioning, basic life support, and pressure sores (React to Red).
  • Infection prevention and control, health and safety.
  • Learning Disabilities (Oliver McGowan Tier 1), mental health, and capacity.
