The role:

This is an exciting, generalist role based in our GP clinics providing brief behavioural and psychological interventions to support mental and physical health and wellbeing for our clinic populations. Our clinics are predominantly busy, walk-in clinics, and an important part of the role is supporting nurses and GPs to promote well-being in routine GP care. This role will see you working alongside multi-cultural GP teams, health coaches and community support workers in a collaborative and integrated manner.

Successful applicants will receive the required training including ongoing supervision and mentoring.

Eligibility for the role includes:

  • A post-graduate qualification enabling you to work therapeutically with clients
  • Registration with a registering body under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (HPCA) (for example, psychologist, social worker, etc) and/or full membership with NZAC
  • Experience working with clients and their whānau with at least 6 months experience in a team or clinical setting
  • Experience in working in evidence-based therapeutic models particularly brief psychological interventions
