Recovery Worker – Crisis (Whitehaven, Cumbria)

Location:

Lowther Street, Whitehaven, Cumbria

Salary:

Β£14,375 (pro rata) inclusive per annum

Job Type:

Part time, 22.5 hours per week

About Lowther Street Crisis House:

The only community crisis house in Cumbria, established to provide an alternative to psychiatric admission. The service offers holistic support in a safe, comfortable environment, avoiding the stigmatizing effects of hospital stays.

Our Philosophy:

Recovery looks different for everyone. With the right support at the right time, recovery is possible. You will help and inspire service users to maintain their tenancy and independence, working with them to develop personal support plans to achieve their goals, whether in domestic skills, finance, work, leisure, or education.

Candidate Requirements:

  • No relevant experience required; full training provided.
  • Understanding of mental health issues and/or lived experience is a plus.
  • Caring, compassionate, empathetic, and enthusiastic about helping others.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to participate in a weekly rota system and on-call duties.
