1:1 TUTORS (SEND)

Ackerman Pierce work closely with County Councils and Schools to provide one to one tutoring for children waiting for school placements. The children we are looking to support have a range of additional complex needs and so we are seeking experienced SEN/HLTAs/LSAs/Tutors/Teachers.

We are currently recruiting for LSAs to provide face to face support to our Tutors and SEND Students in Guildford.

• Location: Guildford
• Position: Learning Support Assistant
• Start date: ASAP
• Contract type: Temporary
• Full time/part time: Part time and Full time available
• Rate of pay: £25 - £35 per hour
• Hours: Tuition must take place between 08:30 am and 04:30 pm Monday - Friday (Term time only)

We are looking for candidates who are:

• Available during school hours up to 30 hours per week.
• Experienced supporting young people with a wide range of complex and challenging needs including SEMH/ASD/MLD/SpLD.
• Prepared to work face to face within the community or young person's home.

LSA responsibilities:

• Motivate pupils to achieve beyond their potential.
• Assist Tutors to plan learning activities, prepare learning materials, complete records, and carry out administrative tasks.
• Help children to understand instructions.
• Provide feedback on the young person's progress.
• Establish positive relationships with pupils and understand their needs.
• Provide constructive feedback in a way that reinforces pupils' self-esteem.
• Handle complex and sensitive issues with empathy and understanding.
• Work effectively and supportively as a member of a team.

Requirements:

• Experience in supporting pupils in a classroom environment, with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
• 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), including English and Maths.
• Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
• Fluent levels of spoken and written English.
• You must also pass an enhanced background (DBS) check.
