Our After School Club Childcare Playwork Assistant role is a part time, term time only position, working Monday to Friday from 2.45 - 6.00pm.
The role involves:
- Assisting the After School Club Manager alongside other After School Club Childcare Assistants in the safe and organised running of the club whilst actively and enthusiastically supporting and engaging children aged 4-11.
- Assisting in the delivery of a range of playwork activities such as Arts & Crafts, Sports, Team Games and other activities.
- Removing barriers to play and enriching the play environment, whilst providing a safe and secure setting for the children in your care.
Responsibilities include:
- Actively assisting the After School Club Manager in the safe and organised running of the After School Club.
- Helping set up, organise and deliver a range of activities daily and pro-actively encouraging children to participate.
- Assisting in the preparation, serving and tidying away of 'snack time'.
- Maintaining sensitivity for any children with additional needs (Physical, Behaviour, Dietary).
- Developing strong relationships with all children at the After School Club ensuring every child has as much FUN at the club as possible.
- Understanding relevant Ofsted standards & KOOSA Kids internal policies & procedures, including safeguarding.
- Ensuring all activity areas are left clean and tidy at the end of each day.
Skills & Experience required:
- A passion / interest in working within a childcare, early years or playwork setting.
- A fun and energetic nature.
- Reliability and effective communication with colleagues and children alike.
- Ability to relate and engage with children aged between 4 - 11 years.

- Full training and inductions will be provided to all After School Club Assistants.
- This role would suit somebody with experience of working in a Primary School, Pre-School or Nursery, e.g. a Teaching Assistant, Early Years Educator or Nursery Assistant, or someone looking to move into the childcare industry.
