School Cook – Basingstoke – 25 hours per week Academics are looking for an experienced School Cook who is immediately available for work/January 2025 to work in a busy school kitchen in Basingstoke! This is an on-going assignment working approximately 25 hours per week/5 per day during term-time (39 weeks of the year). Pay varies on experience from 12.82 – £14 per hour. This is ideally suited to someone living in the Basingstoke area. As a School Cook, you will be responsible for: Providing cooked meals for pupils that are both nutritional and appetising Ensuring the Kitchen is functional and clean to prepare food daily Implementing the schools Lunchtime and Behaviour policies, ensuring the security, safety, welfare and good conduct of pupils during the midday break. Promoting the development of the physical and mental well-being of pupils as directed by a teacher. Key Accountabilities: To ensure that a nutritional menu is followed To fully comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 etc, the schools Health and Safety Policy and all locally agreed safe methods of work To work with colleagues to achieve service plan objectives and targetsPrincipal Responsibilities/Duties for School Cook: To organise and arrange deliveries of all food products to ensure that stock is always readily available to deliver the menu choice for the day To follow and adhere to all menu and recipes provided To follow the food hygiene guidelines and complete all required documentation, daily/weekly etc To ensure that all food is cooked, prepared and service in-line with the company standards To always keep the kitchen area in a clean and tidy state. To report any structural / Health and Safety issues on iAM compliant and if urgent directly to the Site Lead To provide a friendly, efficient and hygienic service to all pupils. To ensure that pupils are given a prompt and efficient service, and expectations are consistently exceeded. To be pupil focused at all times, by being visible during service periods, approachable and quick to exceed expectations in fulfilling pupil needs. To ensure that all bookwork is completed in a timely manner: accurately and efficiently in line with the SFBB guidelines. To project a willing and helpful attitude to pupils; to seek the appropriate knowledge of food items provided through out catering areas and to keep areas and service counters clean and fully stocked. To co-operate with all team members and undertake duties in the kitchen / service areas as requested to ensure an efficient and effective service is always delivered. To attend food safety, health and safety and environmental training courses as required. To rigorously follow the unit cleaning schedules.
