2 Nursing Assistant

A Certified Nursing Assistant\’s Job Responsibilities:

1. Assist with activities of daily living, including serving meals, feeding patients as needed, and helping with ambulation, turning, and positioning; provide fresh water and nourishment between meals.
2. Administer adjunct care such as enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preparations, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths; and apply restraints as required.
3. Monitor patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; test urine and record intake and output.
4. Ensure patient comfort by utilizing appropriate resources and materials; transport patients; respond to call lights and requests; report patient observations to the nursing supervisor.
5. Document actions by completing necessary forms, reports, logs, and records.
6. Maintain smooth work operations by following established policies and procedures.
7. Protect patient confidentiality to uphold the organization\’s value.
8. Enhance professional knowledge through educational opportunities, reading publications, participating in organizations, and maintaining licensure.
9. Contribute to the nursing department and hospital reputation by taking ownership of new and different requests and seeking opportunities to add value to job performance.

CNA Skills and Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
