Job Summary:

Dynamic family run Freight Forwarders with over a 35-year history are seeking a Trainee Customs Clerk to join them in their office in Witham

We are seeking a bright, enthusiastic individual with either 1-2 years experience in Customs or someone with excellent data inputting and customer services skills who wants to learn about Customs

Role and responsibilities

• Prepare and process accurate and timely import customs declarations and clearance.
• Liaise with operations departments.
• Monitor mailbox and handle tariff/entry queries as required.

PROPOSED TRAINING SCHEDULE
Initial training will begin on LCL consol entries including:

• Customs training on Tariff Classification, Valuation, CPC’s, PVA etc
• Claiming UCN’s
• Sequoia ASM
• Monitoring Clearances
• Customs holds and processes.

Training will then proceed on to include more in depth and cross training in more complex entries and processes including:

• Port health holds and processes
• CHEDS
• Organic shipments
• Bond/IPR Entries
• EU Entry processes
• FCL Entries
