An HSE Engineer is responsible for implementing and following up on Group’s HSE policies, objectives, programs, and tools. They contribute to the design and testing of Group’s HSE programs and tools, develop and deploy site-specific HSE objectives and programs to manage risks, support the improvement of industrial operations, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deployment of Group HSE policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines for current and future requirements.
- Providing advice on and ensuring compliance with HSE policies, regulations, and legislation.
- Leading Behavioral Safety Initiatives.
- Preparing audit and assessment reports on HSE matters.
- Managing HSE projects.
- Handling internal and external HSE communication.
- Representing the site towards authorities under the supervision of the Site HSE Manager.
- Conducting HSE incident investigations, analysis, and reporting.
- Rolling out Group and site-specific HSE programs and tools effectively.
- Continuously improving the HSE function on site and servicing the site’s HSE requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Health, Safety & Environmental Engineer with experience in designing and developing facilities, work areas, and procedures, making health and safety recommendations.
- NEBOSH qualification (or working towards it).
- IOSH membership (or working towards it).
- Experience with HSE Management Systems ISO 14001 and risk assessments in compliance with regulations.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- IT literacy and adaptability to new software.
