Thrive Group are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and reputable transport operator in the Swindon area, seeking a skilled and motivated Vehicle Mechanic to join their team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on a modern fleet of PSV and HGV vehicles
  • Diagnose faults and carry out timely, high-quality repairs
  • Maintain accurate records using digital inspection systems
  • Work collaboratively with a close-knit workshop team
  • Participate in a weekend on-call rota (one weekend per month)
  • Work alternate Saturday mornings (1 in 2)

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a mechanic/technician in a PSV or HGV environment
  • NVQ Level 3 in HGV or similar qualification
  • IRTEC accreditation (or willingness to obtain - fully supported)
  • PSV licence desirable, but not essential - training provided
  • Commitment to safe working practices and high-quality standards
  • Strong communication and record-keeping skills

Working Hours:

  • Average of 46.5 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday core hours (e.g., 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM), with some flexibility
  • 1 Saturday morning every other week
  • On-call requirement 1 weekend per month
