Thrive Group are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and reputable transport operator in the Swindon area, seeking a skilled and motivated Vehicle Mechanic to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking company that offers in-house training, career progression, and a supportive working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on a modern fleet of PSV and HGV vehicles
- Diagnose faults and carry out timely, high-quality repairs
- Maintain accurate records using digital inspection systems
- Work collaboratively with a close-knit workshop team
- Participate in a weekend on-call rota (one weekend per month)
- Work alternate Saturday mornings (1 in 2)
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a mechanic/technician in a PSV or HGV environment
- NVQ Level 3 in HGV or similar qualification
- IRTEC accreditation (or willingness to obtain - fully supported)
- PSV licence desirable, but not essential - training provided
- Commitment to safe working practices and high-quality standards
- Strong communication and record-keeping skills
Working Hours:
- Average of 46.5 hours per week
- Monday to Friday core hours (e.g., 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM), with some flexibility
- 1 Saturday morning every other week
- On-call requirement 1 weekend per month
