Birmingham’s Grand Hotel on Colmore Row is housed in one of the city’s most iconic buildings.

This landmark Grade II* listed building has been brought back to life combining beautifully restored classic and original Victorian features with modern service and style that compliments a vibrant and diverse Birmingham in the 21st century.

The Grand Hotel features 185 bedrooms and extraordinary suites, a glamorous cocktail bar, a buzzing New York style restaurant, and eight magnificent meeting and event rooms – as well as the spectacular, Louis XIV-style Grand Ballroom.

Breakfast Chef

The kitchens at the Grand Hotel are a hive of chefs using their culinary flair to create appetising dishes for all our guests. As Breakfast Chef you will be a key team player in the kitchen, helping to ensure the effective running of the department.

What you will do

1. Participate in the preparation and cooking of breakfast food in accordance with established recipe cards and methods.
2. Ensure all dishes are correctly garnished before being sent to relevant outlets.
3. Ensure that all dishes are prepared in a timely manner as befits the venue.
4. Have the desire to be trained to cover other sections of the kitchen as decided by the senior chefs.
5. Remain totally customer focused by consistently delivering excellent customer service with an informed, friendly and effective approach.

What you will need

1. Experience working within a busy kitchen in a similar role is essential, and it would be advantageous for this to have been in a hotel kitchen.
2. We are looking for someone with a real passion for food and the drive to succeed in a new role.
3. Outstanding hygiene skills are essential.
4. Certificate in elementary food hygiene would be desirable.
5. Due to the nature of the work, the ideal candidate would be fully flexible in their approach to work and be able to work shift patterns through weekdays and weekends.
