Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Oversee operation of rail system – patrolling each service corridor to ensure the smooth running of the rail system which will involve a considerable amount of time spent on foot patrols, moving empty hooks around the system using a long reach steel arm and gaining access to loading bays via access ladders.
- Use knowledge of the system to repair any minor mechanical faults.
- Remove damaged rail hooks from the system where necessary.
- Fill out cleaning and inspection forms daily.
- Attend training courses as required by the client.
- Wear the correct personal protective equipment at all times.
- Report all maintenance faults to the maintenance management in line with department procedures.
- Liaise with shop staff, delivery drivers, and security to enable the continuous smooth running of the rail system and ensure that all health, safety, and hygiene regulations are adhered to.
The role demands good physical health, constantly monitoring/marching between the loading gates on the service corridor and the ability to operate machinery related to loading operation.
