Our client is looking for experienced Passenger Assistants on a term-time-only basis, working on a split shift route with varying times. The working patterns are approximately between 7:30 - 9:30 am and 2:30 - 4:30 pm.
Must hold an enhanced DBS with child and adult barred list on the Update system.
Key areas of responsibility:- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of passengers travelling between Home and School/Day Centers.
- Convey pupils' dinner money, medicines, and written messages between parents and the school, ensuring they are carried safely and delivered.
- Assist a client's home to ensure it is left secure and provide necessary help for boarding the vehicle.
- Support the driver in ensuring the safe operation of doors, ramps, steps, and lifts, and ensure seatbelts and safety equipment like wheelchair restraints are properly used.
- Ensure passengers disembark safely and are handed over to a responsible adult or staff member.
- Administer emergency medication and provide first aid in response to allergies, seizures, and minor injuries. PAs will be trained on specific routes regarding medication administration.
- In medical emergencies, contact Emergency Services and inform them of the passengers' conditions, following medical advice.
- Employ Team-Teach movement techniques to help children with higher personal risks and manage situations involving anger or frustration.
- Maintain cleanliness of passengers by cleaning and safely disposing of bodily fluids or materials used.
- Handle sensitive medical information confidentially, in accordance with GDPR, and keep related paperwork secure.
