We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pre-Operative Assessment Nurse to join our team. You will play a key role in assessing patients before surgery, ensuring they are medically fit and prepared for their procedure.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments
  • Perform clinical observations such as auscultation, blood pressure, 12 lead ECGs, blood tests, and other relevant investigations.
  • Identify and escalate any concerns regarding a patient’s fitness for surgery.
  • Provide clear pre-operative advice and information to patients and their families.
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a seamless patient journey.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in line with NHS policies.

  • Shift Patterns: Day shifts, 8:00 - 18:00, Monday - Friday
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Must be registered with the NMC
  • Must have 2 years experience working in a pre-operative assessment clinic
  • Must be experienced in auscultation
  • Must be experienced in 12 lead ECGs
