Role Summary

To create a unique, innovative, and inspiring customer experience that embodies the Free People lifestyle and brand image. The role involves managing store operations and achieving sales goals to ensure profitability. The Assistant Store Manager partners with and supports the Store Manager and Assistant Visual Manager. They maintain open communication with the District Manager to stay aligned with brand direction and focus.

What You'll Be Doing

  • People: Lead, mentor, and motivate the team in leadership, visual execution, and expectations through feedback, accountability, ownership, delegation, and strategic planning. Conduct store staff meetings and training sessions. Manage and motivate high levels of Customer Care using all available resources. Collaborate with the Store Brand Leader on performance appraisals, goal setting, and employee development. Facilitate hiring, onboarding, training, and development of staff. Lead by example to promote employee productivity and serve as a mentor and problem solver. Identify and develop internal talent for succession planning. Enhance the store's selling culture.
  • Process: Maintain business awareness and drive sales to meet and exceed targets. Plan and execute objectives in partnership with district and store management. Support scheduling and zoning to adhere to weekly structure. Promote high standards in Customer Care, Operations, and Loss Prevention. Prioritise and delegate tasks effectively. Manage stock levels and sell-through with the team. Communicate company initiatives and performance feedback. Oversee stock room standards and operational aspects of the store. Uphold all company policies and procedures.
  • Presentation: Use weekly sales reports to analyse and strategise for sales maximisation. Implement weekly operational and visual objectives. Train staff on visual standards and execution. Maintain awareness of brand aesthetic and communicate with the team. Provide product performance feedback to the District Brand Leader.
