Apprenticeship Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team of skilled engineers as an Apprentice Engineer (Installation and Maintenance Electrician). The role involves specialised training towards an externally accredited NVQ qualification, gaining valuable on-the-job experience while developing new skills.
Prospects
The training lasts up to 3-5 years depending on the NVQ level. Upon completion, the candidate will be a fully qualified Installation and Maintenance Electrician, with potential for permanent employment within JLL.
Job Summary/Goals
To assist qualified engineers in carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance, and emergency works, primarily focused on electrical services.
Working Hours
Varies according to the post, including:
- Day – 0800-1700 Monday to Friday
- Day Shift – 0700-1900, 7-day shift pattern
- Shift – 12-hour shifts providing 24-hour coverage on a rotating basis
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in PPM according to schedules, ensuring standards for quality and safety are maintained.
- Follow health and safety regulations and maintain accurate documentation.
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance issues and help desk requests.
- Coordinate initial actions for EWIS requests and liaise with specialist contractors.
- Assist with electrical fault diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of lighting, distribution, and controls.
- Support other trades as necessary and attend college as required.
- Provide reports on work and equipment, undertake miscellaneous duties as needed.
Additional Duties
Adhere to health and safety policies, ensuring a safe working environment.

Skills
- High-quality service commitment, good communication, adaptability, teamwork, reliability, physical fitness, and calmness under pressure.
Experience
- Interest in engineering, maintenance experience, fault diagnosis, electrical installation, testing, and inspection.
Qualifications
- GCSEs in Maths (Grade B/5), English (Grade C/4), Science (Grade C/4), and a Full Driving Licence.
