We are seeking a passionate, engaging, and driven individual to join our site services team, delivering outstanding traffic and transport services across the Eden Project. This role contributes to creating a world-class welcome for our guests.

Role Purpose

The role involves developing skills and inspiring a passion for putting guests first to deliver a premier experience. Responsibilities include managing the Eden Shuttle service, car parking, and enhancing the guest experience to support their education and enjoyment. Effective traffic management and positive first impressions are key.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure the safety of up to 25 guests during shuttle travel and work with an efficient traffic management plan to maximize parking and visitor flow.
  • Support transport needs for events and exhibitions.
  • Greet guests warmly, engage actively, and promote inclusivity and accessibility.
  • Understand Eden's ethos, site layout, and highlights to enhance guest interactions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of work areas, act as the site's eyes and ears to ensure guest expectations are met, and assist with guest safety and welfare concerns swiftly and appropriately.
  • Conduct daily safety checks of shuttle vehicles and operate services safely at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and leadership to support seamless operations and deliver an excellent guest experience from arrival to departure.
  • Flexibility to work in other teams such as retail, hospitality, or events may be required.

Demands of the Role

  • Applicants must hold a full UK driving license, have relevant customer service qualifications (e.g., NVQ), and possess First Aid at Work and Health & Safety Level 2 certifications.
  • Presentation skills are desirable.
  • Minimum 1 year of driving experience, with a strong character, team spirit, and a proactive attitude.
  • ICT skills and basic vehicle fault-finding abilities are required.
  • Chapter 8 training is a plus.

Decision-Making

Make daily operational decisions in collaboration with the Team Supervisor, escalating complex issues to the Duty Manager. Demonstrate self-motivation and a positive attitude, working independently and as part of a team to improve services.

People & Asset Management

Support less experienced staff through training and coaching. Responsible for the care and maintenance of shuttle vehicles and minibuses. Engage with guests effectively and promote a positive guest experience.

Operational Environment

This outdoor role involves working in all weather conditions, standing for long periods amid moving traffic. It requires weekend and some evening work to meet operational needs.
