Middle Office Analyst

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate closely with the front office team to ensure accurate trade capture and timely validation of trade entries in the oil trading sector.
2. Reconcile trading positions with counterparties and internal systems to identify and resolve discrepancies.
3. Coordinate with operations staff to facilitate the timely settlement of trades and manage physical logistics as necessary.
4. Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices in trade operations.
5. Generate and analyse reports on exposure positions, trading profit/loss, and other key metrics to support decision-making.
6. Provide support to traders and other stakeholders by addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to trade operations.
7. Collaborate with various teams such as Financial Control, Back Office, and Compliance to ensure alignment and consistency in operational processes.
8. Participate in process improvements and system enhancements to optimise efficiency and mitigate operational risks.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor\’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field. Relevant certifications or advanced degrees are a plus.
2. Previous experience in middle office operations, preferably within the oil trading industry.
3. Strong understanding of trade lifecycle, trade capture processes, and trade settlements.
4. Proficiency in using trade capture systems and familiarity with industry-standard trading platforms.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
7. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
8. Knowledge of regulatory requirements relevant to trading operations is desirable.
