The Opportunity: We are recruiting a skilled and motivated Flooring Fitter on behalf of our client - an established independent organisation providing accommodation services nationwide. Reporting to the Repairs & Maintenance Team Leader, this hands-on role involves carrying out both responsive and planned maintenance tasks across a portfolio of properties.
If you have a practical background in flooring, painting, decorating, or general maintenance, and you're looking for a role where no two days are the same, this could be the opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working across both occupied and void (empty) properties, your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Flooring Installation & Maintenance
- Cleaning existing flooring and preparing surfaces (including levelling compounds)
- Removing and repositioning furniture and doors as needed
- Installing underlay and fitting flooring using various methods (grippers, adhesives, heat-sealing, etc.)
- Installing a variety of materials including wood, laminate, and vinyl
- Removing old flooring and ensuring proper disposal
- Painting & Decorating
- Preparing and cleaning surfaces (e.g., scraping, sanding, steam cleaning)
- Removing old wallpaper and flaking paint
- Repairing cracks and filling holes in walls and woodwork
- Sanding and preparing surfaces for painting or redecorating
- Other Responsibilities
- Performing groundwork repairs as needed
- Supporting the wider property services team
- Carrying out additional duties as directed by the Head of Property Services
What We're Looking For:
- Hands-on experience in flooring, decorating, or general property maintenance
- Strong attention to detail and a practical, solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently and manage your time efficiently
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential) - DVLA checks will be carried out
- The role is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
