Job Purpose: Reporting to and liaising with the Shift Manager. Supervising processes and employees in a busy production cleaning department, ensuring that work areas, machinery, and equipment are cleaned to the highest standards and cleaning schedules are met at all times.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for all staff employed in the cleaning roles on their shift.
  • Encourage cleaning operatives to meet or exceed cleaning targets to improve cleaning standards and support the delivery of the highest quality of cleaning.
  • Ensure that all cleans meet quality control standards (BRC / Customer specific requirements).
  • Train new cleaners to the company standard and maintain their skills training regularly relating to all work instructions and safe work practices.
  • Manage and monitor material wastage and water usage to a minimum.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Health & Safety by working in a safe manner, role modelling safety behaviours, challenging unsafe practices, rectifying unsafe conditions, and escalating to other team members when support is needed.
  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company standards of hygiene and PPE.
  • Work as part of a team, playing an active part in the team and business successes. Engage with the daily challenges and opportunities and work effectively with others to overcome any issues.
  • Manage stock and stock rotation of cleaning supplies.
