Set Starters is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to supporting new entrants in the Film and TV industry. Since 2022, we’ve been empowering aspiring professionals by providing training, resources, and opportunities to help them thrive in this competitive sector.

Role Overview
Volunteers and Representatives at Set Starters play a vital role in supporting our initiatives, events, and outreach programs. Whether it’s helping coordinate events, connecting with partners, or assisting with day-to-day tasks, your contributions will help make a meaningful impact on the careers of future Film and TV professionals.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills, gain valuable industry insight, and support a purpose-driven organisation that promotes inclusivity, sustainability, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
For Volunteers
- Assist with the planning and execution of Set Starters events and workshops.
- Support administrative tasks, including email communication, data management, and scheduling.
- Help create and distribute promotional materials for initiatives and events.
- Provide on-the-day support at in-person events, including registration, setup, and general assistance.
- Contribute ideas for improving programs, outreach strategies, and community engagement.
- Promote Set Starters initiatives across your own networks and social media channels.
For Representatives
- Act as the face of Set Starters at industry events, workshops, and community engagements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners, organisations, and sponsors.
- Identify collaboration opportunities to enhance Set Starters’ presence and impact in the industry.
- Support outreach and recruitment efforts to bring more volunteers, partners, and participants on board.
- Advocate for Set Starters’ values of sustainability, inclusivity, and community-driven support.
- Share regular updates and insights with the core Set Starters team to help inform strategic planning.

- An understanding of Set Starters’ values around sustainability, inclusivity, and professional development.
Desirable:
- Previous volunteering, community engagement, or event support experience.
- A network or interest in the Film and TV sector.
- Social media and promotional skills (e.g., content creation, audience engagement).
- Basic technical skills (e.g., working with platforms like Zoom, Google Drive, or Canva).
