I am currently recruiting for a leading Lloyd's Syndicate seeking a Property Facultative Underwriter to join their growing team. My client desires a candidate with 10+ years of experience underwriting Property business from a Facultative perspective. The role will focus on international business and writing on an XOL basis, though experience with primary business is also considered. The team comprises 6 members, with a significant fire severe book.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and implementing the business plan for the portfolio.
- Support execution of the business plan and make decisions to optimize outcomes.
- Participate in meetings to exchange ideas, strategies, and best practices.
- Promote the department, division, and company to enhance brand exposure.
- Implement reinsurance strategies to protect the portfolio.
- Manage complex reinsurance activities in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Adhere to underwriting standards, guidelines, and best practices to mitigate risk and improve efficiency.
- Accurately record and assess risks, including Delegated Underwriting Authorities, and develop or adjust policy wordings as needed.
- Apply reinsurance requirements to mitigate risk and support business objectives.
- Engage in continuous learning to enhance technical expertise.
- Underwrite complex risks, negotiate terms, and ensure compliance, while contributing to the business plan and managing credit control.
