HEAD OF RISK – LAW FIRM RISK & COMPLIANCE

Our client is a prestigious London-based corporate law firm with an excellent reputation, high-profile global clients, and superior quality work.

The Risk & Compliance team has grown recently, and we are now seeking a Head of Risk to support the Director of Risk, overseeing various legal and regulatory risks. You will manage three risk advisors and collaborate with the Head of Business Acceptance to ensure cohesive risk management across the firm.

The role involves reviewing and updating the firm’s risk strategy, systems, and controls. You will provide support, training, and development to the team and fee earners, deputise for the Director of Risk when needed, and support Partners and management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, SRA regulation, accounting issues, data protection, third-party suppliers, audits, and complaints.

We seek a highly skilled, qualified solicitor with at least 10 years’ PQE, preferably with experience in risk and compliance. Alternatively, lawyers with directly relevant fee-earning experience may be considered. You must demonstrate a strong working knowledge of SRA regulations and current risk issues facing law firms.

Note: Only applicants who are legally qualified and have worked in law firm risk and compliance will be considered.

The ideal candidate will be pragmatic, commercially minded, proactive, and possess excellent communication skills. You should be capable of multi-tasking, managing deadlines, and prioritising effectively, with a client-focused approach.
