Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 (Dep on exp.)
A unique and exciting opportunity is available for a skilled and experienced Senior Structural Engineer with my Client who issmall, independent, Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy. Theyrequire a Senior Structural Engineer who is seeking a role that offers a certain level of autonomy on projects, the ability to manage your own design schemes from inception to completion and a role which offers you a good scope of projects to take responsibility for.
As Senior Structural Engineer youwill be actively encouraged to take on interesting projects from start to completion. My Client is in a strong position tooffer the right person a generous pay package along with career development and advancement opportunities, hopefully leading to director level.
You can typically expect to be directlyinvolved in small to medium sized projects up to £25M in value, and due to the size of their business willideally have previously worked in a similar position in the UK.
Job Responsibilities
- Ability to manage your own projects, from conception to completion
- Produce calculations for all Structural materials steel, concrete, masonry and timber etc.
- Prepare drawings using AutoCAD
- Carry out site visits and attend meetings
- Selecting appropriate construction materials
- Providing technical advice to clients and colleagues
- Liaising with relevant professions as part of the design team
- Monitoring and inspecting work undertaken by contractors
- Preparing condition reports of existing structures
Job Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor\’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, plus a solid period of experience of working as a Structural Engineer in the UK
- MIStructE or MICE or working towards
- Experience of design software such as Tekla TEDDS, Tekla Building Designer, Fastrak Portal or similar
- Experience designing steelwork and reinforced concrete
- Decisive with excellent critical thinking skills
- Good written and verbal communication abilities, including preparing reports
- Ability to work on your own to deliver a project, from start to completion
