Job Ref: NK WN ED – Personal Assistant Required

Position: PA for Our Lovely Non-verbal 11 Year Old Son (Marchmont EH9)

We are looking for someone reliable to look after our 11-year-old son for 10 hours a week (although this role could be a job share with 5 hours each) on a Friday afternoon and/or Saturday and/or Sunday.

Our son is autistic, deaf, has learning disabilities, and is non-verbal. He is a lovely boy but needs constant supervision and is very sensory. He is very active and likes to go out and about, e.g., walks, playground, buses, swimming, etc. – again with constant supervision. He has a few behaviors that need to be managed, so we are looking for someone with previous experience.

He wears hearing aids but mainly uses limited BSL sign to communicate. Experience in sign and deaf awareness would be a plus, although training can be provided.

We are willing to consider this role as a job share if you cannot commit to 10 hours per week, but please make this clear in your application.

We live in Edinburgh in Marchmont EH9 and would require references. A PVG is a requirement (willing to pay this expense for the right person) – looking for an immediate start.

Salary: £12.32-£16 per hour dependent on experience.
