My client is a leading manufacturer in Huddersfield who are looking to recruit a Purchasing Assistant to join their fantastic purchasing team. This position has arisen due to internal promotion and they are keen to recruit as soon as possible.

What are they looking for:

  • They are looking for a tenacious and confident self-starter with a genuine passion for Procurement.
  • A pro-active approach and a can-do attitude are essential to the success of this role.
  • Previous administration experience from a procurement/purchasing/buying/inventory/stock control department is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of MRP systems from an administration role would also be an advantage.
  • You’ll have some administrative experience within a manufacturing environment and be keen to learn and develop.

Your day-to-day duties and responsibilities:

  • Support the Procurement Department in all procurement related activities.
  • Serve as the primary contact within the procurement team for all Supplier requests.
  • Support the team in their day-to-day activities.
  • Purchase Order Processing: Create and process purchase orders based on MRP demand and purchase requests from various departments. Ensure accuracy in the order details, quantities, delivery timelines and pricing.
  • Supplier Management: Assist in the maintenance and management of approved suppliers, including contact information, pricing agreements, and performance evaluations. Collaborate with suppliers to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulations, and ethical standards. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to purchasing activities.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, particularly the whole Procurement Team and including finance, operations, design, commercial and inventory management teams, to understand their procurement needs and provide timely and effective procurement support.
