Position: Bioinformatics Research Scientist

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 35 per week (standard Anthony Nolan working hours)

Location: Anthony Nolan Research Institute, Research Laboratories, Hampstead, London

Job Summary

We seek a bioinformatics scientist interested in innovation to work on our internationally recognized databases, IPD-IMGT/HLA and IPD-KIR. The role focuses on developing internal analysis pipelines for resilience and reproducibility, building public-facing tools for the database, and providing technical support for other projects.

Essential skills include experience with Python and SQL. Additional knowledge of databases such as Oracle and MongoDB, web development, and Linux environments is advantageous.

Key Skills

• Familiarity with SQL and MongoDB
• Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) – desirable
• Knowledge of Agile development practices – desirable
