Northern Diver (International) caters to recreational divers, commercial divers, military personnel, and emergency services. Our facility in Appley Bridge functions as both the company headquarters and a centre for research, development, and production. The site includes state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing units, a research and development lab, and training facilities. This enables us to maintain tight control over the production process and ensure the highest quality standards.
We are looking for a Testing Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will be testing drysuits in line with our quality assurance and productivity guidelines and serve as the first point of contact for customers checking if their equipment is ready.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WOULD INCLUDE:
- Conduct testing on diving suits and valves using specialised equipment (training will be provided). Ensure accurate and thorough testing to meet quality standards.
- Prepare and send quotations to customers via email and manage follow‑up communications by phone to address any queries or concerns.
- Identify causes of failures in diving suits and valves and provide appropriate repair recommendations to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Accurately update our online system with testing results, ensuring all data is current and correctly recorded.
- Ensure all work meets customer specifications and adheres to company procedures and quality standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure project deadlines and production goals are met efficiently.
- Support the alterations and repairs department as needed, contributing to effective and timely service delivery.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe testing area, adhering to safety protocols and housekeeping standards.
- Assist with picking and packing tasks to support the dispatch department during peak periods, ensuring timely order fulfilment.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Supervisory Technician to support overall operational efficiency and team objectives.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrates a professional and mature attitude towards work, with a focus on reliability and responsibility.
- Proficient in using computer systems and software for documentation and communication.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing tasks efficiently during busy periods.
- Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in testing, documentation, and communications.
- Strong telephone manner with the ability to engage confidently with customers and address their needs effectively.
- Hardworking and a strong team player, willing to contribute to the team’s success and collaborate with others.
- Capable of working independently, taking initiative, and prioritising tasks to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
