We are looking for a talented Geographical Information Systems (GIS) Engineer to join the Applications Development team to contribute to the design, development and implementation of GIS Applications for North Yorkshire Police (NYP), North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (NYFRS) and Office for Policing, Fire, Crime and Commissioning (OPFCC). The role The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of the information held within the gazetteer and mapping systems as well as ensuring the computer systems critical to public safety have access to up-to-date mapping and addressing information. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Investigating and resolving problems arising with Gazetteer and Mapping data Providing GIS application support to users Define and develop GIS data and systems Act as a primary contact with Ordnance Survey (at senior grade) Provide geospatial advice to Business users to increase its use and effectiveness The person You will have the ability to work on multiple tasks at any one time while maintaining high quality standards.
