Are you a detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer with a passion for control panel design and a flair for precision? Travis Talent is proud to partner with a well-established Controls team in Barnsley to find a skilled professional ready to bring engineered solutions to life. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly organised and collaborative team, working on impactful projects within a forward-thinking organisation. You'll be based primarily at their Barnsley office, with the occasional site visit required.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Designing electrical systems using AutoCAD software.
- Developing solutions based on technical specifications in collaboration with the Electrical Contract Manager.
- Supporting project delivery by reporting progress and forecasts.
- Attending client and sub-contractor meetings, offering hands-on technical expertise.
- Preparing Factory Acceptance Testing documentation and attending panel testing at manufacturer sites.
- Staying current with the latest trends and regulations in electrical engineering.
What We're Looking For:
- An engineering qualification at Level 4 or higher (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and cable design software.
- Solid understanding of BS EN 60204 and BS7671.
- At least 5 years of relevant electrical design experience.
- Strong background in control panel and MCC design—preferably with Siemens equipment.
- Knowledge of industrial control systems, including electrical distribution, motor control centres, and PLC panels.
- Ability to produce single line diagrams, schematics, BOMs, cable calculations, and cable schedules.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Proactive, team-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
