Male Support Worker

Overview

Join Acuity Care Group as a Male Support Worker based in Lincoln. This role offers a unique opportunity to support an individual with severe learning disabilities, autism, and epilepsy – a non‑verbal, complex‑needs person with a fun, vibrant personality.

Pay & Hours

Pay rate: £14.18 per hour, paid weekly or monthly.

Shift pattern: 12 hours per week, flexible to cover days and nights – 8:00 am‑8:00 pm or 8:00 pm‑8:00 am.

Must hold a full UK driver’s licence and be comfortable driving the individual’s vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality 1:1 and 2:1 support, including personal care and meaningful activities.
• Engage the individual in community outings and support household tasks to maintain a comfortable environment.
• Communicate confidently and supportedly in the individual’s preferred style to build trust and a strong relationship.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience in learning disabilities & autism (LDA) and severe learning disabilities.
• Comfortable with behaviours that challenge and able to support a non‑verbal person.
• Driver – essential for outings and appointments.
• Male applicants only – due to personal care and specific needs.
• Experience with epilepsy, non‑verbal communication, and Makaton is a bonus but not essential.
