Elevation Recruitment are working with a leading structural steel business to help them recruit a Structural Design Engineer. Our client has over 50 years of expertise and is renowned for delivering technically demanding structural steelwork projects. As part of a continued expansion, the business is looking for a skilled and experienced engineer capable of independently managing projects or collaborating effectively within a team setting.
Role Requirements:
- A minimum of 10 yearsβ experience in structural steelwork design, with strong knowledge of relevant British and European design standards and codes.
- Previous experience with a UK-based steelwork fabricator is essential.
- A degree in civil or structural engineering, ideally working toward Incorporated or Chartered status.
- Proficient in structural frame design, member design, and steelwork connection design.
- Competency in Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Portal Designer, Masterseries, S-Frame, IDEA StatiCa, and software from various cold-rolled suppliers.
- Experience in temporary works design is advantageous.
- Ability to produce both manual and software-based design calculations.
- Strong initiative and problem-solving skills with the ability to coordinate information with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Experience working within design budgets and reporting to senior design management.
- Willingness to attend and lead meetings, follow QA procedures, and liaise across departments to meet project requirements.
- A proactive role in mentoring graduate engineers and contributing to the continuous improvement of the business.
