Technical Assessors – Construction Certification

UKAS is seeking independent technical assessors in various disciplines for evaluating accredited and applicant certification bodies.

• Construction Products Regulations
• National Highway Sector Schemes
• Manufacture of Construction Products
• Steel Structures
• Modern Methods of Construction
• Micro-generation Certification Scheme (MCS)
• Installation
• Fire Prevention/Protection
• Competent Persons Schemes (including electrical installation, plumbing and heating, insulation, roofing)

Applicants should have extensive experience in relevant industry sectors such as building control, product certification, highway works, or manufacturing, and possess appropriate qualifications. Knowledge of specialized certification areas is highly advantageous. Experience in internal or third-party auditing or assessment is required, along with familiarity with ISO 17065, ISO 17020, and ISO 17021.

As this role involves assessing accredited bodies, UKAS cannot consider applications from individuals who have conflicts of interest or conduct significant work for multiple UKAS accredited bodies.

UKAS offers contracts to independent technical assessors on a day rate basis. The volume of work varies depending on customer demand, and no specific workload can be guaranteed.
