At NFU Mutual, we’ve built our reputation on, and succeeded in, the agricultural sector. From this respected platform, we’re now using our knowledge to not only support the ever-evolving agriculture sector but to develop thriving relationships and drive growth across commercial and high net worth clients. As an Agent in the Hungerford and Marlborough agency, you’ll join an existing high-performing business that has doubled in size over the past 5 years. With a focus on new business, you’ll play a key role in expanding market reach.
Using a mix of client management and commercial thinking, you’ll tap into an abundance of new business opportunities across Berkshire and Wiltshire. Alongside two experienced Agents, this is an opportunity to showcase your ability to understand unique customer needs, provide tailored solutions and drive the growth this business is ready for.
Your experience and commercial flair are essential. Based in the historic town of Hungerford, this agency is home to a 20-strong team of dedicated people who thrive in a culture where working towards the same goals and supporting growth through great customer care is a given. With the support of the two existing partners, you’ll inspire a small sales team, where your strong leadership and coaching skills will be crucial in achieving ambitious sales targets. While experience in farming is not essential, a genuine interest and appreciation for agriculture is crucial.
Building business partnerships is key. NFU Mutual is a top 10 UK insurance provider with a focus on building business relationships and putting our customers at the heart of what we do. Our mutuality is our difference. And it works. With a 95% renewal rate, our status and respect in the agricultural world and beyond provide the foundations on which to grow the business. The Hungerford and Marlborough agency has a strong reputation and provides ample opportunities to develop relationships with a diverse client base, including farmers, rural businesses, and commercial enterprises.
One of the other aspects of this opportunity is being appointed an NFU Group Secretary. You’ll be the voice of the Union, bringing the agriculture community together and sharing best practices and policy updates. With full backing from the NFU, you’ll have access to expert advice and specialist support on everything from policy and increasing membership numbers to marketing and media. In this role, you’re supporting the needs of the community and opening doors to future business opportunities for your agency.
As a self-employed Assistant Agent of NFU Mutual, your earnings are based on the performance of the agency. However, this is a self-employed opportunity with a difference. Unlike most business ventures which demand start-up funding or venture buy-ins, our model requires zero upfront capital investment. In addition, you’ll benefit from:
- Uncapped earnings growth built into the agency financial structure.
- A ready-made and loyal customer base with a renewal rate of 95%.
- Comprehensive training and support to help you develop your skills and knowledge.
- Access to a host of NFU Mutual support services to help you build a sustainable, profitable insurance business.
This is an incredible opportunity where you can use your commercial thinking and client management skills to drive growth within an already successful agency, which has the backing of NFU Mutual, a hugely respected insurance business. If you’re interested in this opportunity, please submit your application as early as possible as we may close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications.
