Job Description
Your Mission:
At Wise, we’ve got a clear mission — money without borders. Built by and for people who live global lives. As a FinTech company moving billions of GBP of customer money in over 70 countries, Wise needs bulletproof financials & insights into the growth of the company. We need timely, accurate and scalable financial data to make accurate business decisions inside the company.
Due to continued and rapid growth we’re on the hunt for a Senior Analytics Manager – Growth Strategy (AL2) to lead our Growth Analytics team in Shoreditch, London. You’ll be part of the team that helps pilot the rocket ship.
What you’ll be doing:

You will straddle 3 key roles

Building and coaching a small team of analysts, including guiding them to building their data assets (pipelines, dashboards, reports) well

You will create a structured approach to explaining our growth as a company and the variance in it. This will include segment level definition and analysis, setting up good monthly variance analysis, layering in estimates of macro economic impact, and coordinating communications with other teams closer to specific products to add high context narrative to our overall trends

You will tell the story behind why we’re growing or not and therefore what we need to do

You will be a key person informing wider company strategy. All our tribes will be looking to your outputs to guide their plans

You will also be working with a contingent of data scientists for specialist modelling work

The role will be a mix of hands on work and strategic team management
Who you are
-
5-6 years experience as an analyst and 2-5 years leading others (can be overlapping)
-
Strong commercial acumen and communication. It is critical that you can view data in terms of its impact on overall company performance and relate that to non technical stakeholders clearly

Able to write clean code in your pipelines and notebooks (SQL and Python), and have some appreciation of the basics behind building re usable data pipelines

Enough stats knowledge to build basic models and work effectively with data scientists building heavier ones

FP&A background preferred but backgrounds in Product or Marketing analytics also likely to work well
