Salary is dependent on experience. We’re hiring a Senior Accountant into a newly created permanent role within our friendly and collaborative finance team. This is a great opportunity to make a real impact in a small, supportive team, with hands-on involvement in both reinsurance accounting and broader finance activities. We welcome applications from candidates with existing reinsurance accounting experience , or those keen to move into this specialist area. An insurance industry background is essential , and you’ll play a key role in finance projects , system upgrades , and supporting our evolving reinsurance structures. Overall responsibility of the Role: To be a point of contact for Reinsurance processing, recording and overseeing the collection of reinsurance premium and to provide financial and management reinsurance information· To be a point of contact for coordinating the branch wide reinsurance programmes. Role Responsibilities: To assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual reports for the purposes of management and statutory reporting for the company, the Group and its branches. To maintain reinsurance records, and the quarterly and ad hoc production of reports to reinsurance brokers. To provide cover for the assistant accountant – reinsurance role. To review quarterly reinsurance statements for the financial statements. To oversee reinsurance premium, liaising with other colleagues, reinsurance brokers and underwriters on outstanding debts. To oversee and assist with the processing of IG Pool claims and submission of reports to the IG, and internal management. To assist in the production of the statutory financial statements for the company, the Group and its branches. To provide general support as required for colleagues within the Finance department. To support and assist in such project work as arises from time to time within the Finance Department. Experience/Skills Required: Insurance industry experience is essential Reinsurance accounting experience or a strong interest in moving into reinsurance Qualified accountant with a minimum of 3 years’ PQE Willingness to take on both detailed work and review responsibilities Strong attention to detail and ability to problem-solve around data errors Confident communicator, comfortable working with internal teams and external contacts Collaborative team player who is not afraid to ask questions Experience with Sun Systems is desirable but not essential Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
