We have a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Strategy Officer to join a leading international law firm in a newly-created opportunity to assist the CEO by turning high-level intent into data-backed plans, assisting in discharging the following strategic responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning
- Review and refresh the existing corporate strategy to reflect the latest market realities and internal priorities, while keeping its core direction intact.
- Translate the refreshed strategy into detailed execution road maps, milestones and resource plans so everyone knows "who does what, by when".
- Prioritise and sequence initiatives with senior leaders, making sure day‑to‑day activity stays tightly linked to the strategy.
- Creating and communicating a clear roadmap for achieving strategic goals, including short-term priorities and long-term initiatives.
- Market and business insight
- Analyse current markets in depth - demand trends, customer needs and competitor moves.
- Produce clear, concise insight papers that help the leadership team decide which markets or service lines to scale first, and at what pace.
- Track changes in market share, competitor positioning, client demand and market dynamics.
- Operational alignment
- Track leading and lagging Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), highlight any gaps and coordinate corrective action.
- Track cross-functional collaboration and alignment and identify where corrective action is required.
- Engagement
- Prepare papers for the Board and Executive Committee.
- Support the CEO with Board, Committee and shareholder updates and staff communications such as town‑halls, playbooks and short training sessions.
- Collaborating with key stakeholders, including Board members and leaders across the firm to communicate the Group's strategy and performance.
Skills and experience required:
- Previous experience gained in a similar strategic role, ideally gained within the professional services sector.
- A practical, start-up-style mindset.
- Strong analytical toolkit – financial modelling, scenario planning, data presentation.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
