Job Overview:
As an HVAC and Plumbing Helper, you will be responsible for assisting HVAC mechanics and plumbers to assemble and install heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and/or cooling systems, plumbing systems, and fixtures.
Essential Job Functions:
- Cut or drill holes in walls to permit passage of pipes, ducts, wires, etc., using appropriate power tools.
- Select specific type and size of pipe and duct.
- Mount hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to hold duct.
- Assist with the installation of valves, couplings, and other fittings.
- Disassemble and remove damaged or worn duct, pipe, and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a current valid driver's license.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Vo-tech or trades experience preferred.
- Background check required.
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry, push and pull materials weighing 50 to 100 lbs.
- Ability to climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects, and carry tools and equipment.
- Be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and see naturally or with correction.
- May work in confined spaces, small crawlspaces, or in high places.
