The Support Worker plays a vital role in providing compassionate care and assistance to individuals in need, including those in assisted living, living in the community, or senior care environments. This position involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence, personal care, domestic care, and supporting with nutrition and fluids. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they assist.

Duties

  • Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
  • Engage in patient care activities, offering companionship and emotional support.
  • Perform heavy lifting as required to assist clients with mobility or transfers.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to support clients with specific needs.
  • Drive clients to appointments or social activities as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate personnel.

Skills

  • Experience in assisted living or personal care, dementia care is essential.
  • Knowledge of first aid practices is beneficial for ensuring client safety.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
  • Compassionate approach towards patient care, particularly in hospice settings.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients as needed.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £12.50-£13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 6 – 24 per week
