This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the preservation of digital collections at University of the Arts London (UAL).
Supported by the Digital Preservation and Access Manager, the Assistant Archivist post will contribute to the programme to preserve and provide access to UAL's extensive digital archives, museum, and special collections.
Duties of the role include:
- Preparing and uploading digital assets to the digital preservation system (Preservica)
- Retrieving and exporting relevant metadata from UAL's archives, library, and museum cataloguing systems
- Structuring assets and metadata in accordance with local guidance
With a degree-level qualification in information sciences, digital humanities or computer sciences, or equivalent experience, candidates will have knowledge and experience of digital preservation practices and principles. In addition to this, candidates will have previous experience of working with digital collections in archives, museums or libraries, and demonstrable experience of working with digital preservation systems.
