The Banking and Settlements department sits at the heart of payment services in Boku overseeing over 70 countries of operations ensuring all fund movements operate at an optimal state including foreign exchange risk management. This role will perform the critical function of overseeing FX for the EMEA/LATAM region jointly playing a key consultative role for Boku’s prominent clientele surrounding money movement and FX solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all risks within the company in relations to foreign exchange particularly during the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) time zone as well as potentially a few countries in Latin America (LATAM).
- Be the key commercial representative for Banking and Settlement helping craft solutions with our sales teams and clients surrounding money movement/FX.
- Support broader Treasury (Banking & Settlements) objectives particularly during the EMEA time zone.
- Build out the requisite technological framework to facilitate real time reporting of risk positions including the potential use of a treasury management system.
- Achieve commercial targets in terms of FX fee revenue.
- Achieve targets around the costs of doing FX.
- Minimise impact on Boku’s overall earnings resulting from FX volatility.
- Ensure no audit findings in relations to FX processes and pricing models.
- Good familiarity with the FX markets particularly in emerging markets of EMEA ie Middle East and Africa.
- Knowledge of FX hedging/trading instruments (Spot/Forwards/Options).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, this role will involve selling potential FX/payment solutions created by Boku to clients.
- Analytical Mindset - to break down monolithic problems into clearly distinct and digestible issues and then identify options to resolve them.
- Creation of custom dashboards with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI etc.).
- Using statistical methods to analyze large datasets particularly involving the market using Bloomberg.
- Ability to create models for forecasting/strategy.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Foreign Exchange whether from a bank/fintech or a corporate treasury.
- Experience using corporate treasury management systems as well as Bloomberg would be helpful.
- Possess a very strong business/commercial mindset.
- Some passion around the digital payments landscape would be helpful.
- Basic degree preferably in the field of finance/banking/accounting.
- Analytical and logical approach to problem solving.
- A high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
