The Heathrow Shared Apprenticeship Scheme is one of the UK's most exciting apprenticeship programmes. The scheme provides career changing opportunities for residents close to the airport. Information Managers play a crucial role in supporting the delivery and management of critical information, both digital and hard copy, throughout all stages of a construction or infrastructure project. Their function is essential in ensuring that data is collected, managed, transferred, and stored effectively, while maintaining quality, security, and compliance with industry standards.

Duties typically include:

  • Receiving, validating, managing, and storing information across all project stages.
  • Controlling and maintaining all digital and hard copy information.
  • Distributing information accurately and securely to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring cybersecurity protocols are followed in handling and storing information.
  • Producing reports and forecasts on project information management.
  • Establishing and implementing systems for information management and collaboration.
  • Ensuring compliance with information management protocols and addressing any non-compliance.
  • Collaborating with IT teams to enhance system efficiency and functionality.
  • Providing training to stakeholders on information management practices.
  • Managing delegated budgets related to information management activities.
  • Supporting the project lifecycle by ensuring data integrity and structured handover of information.
  • Applying risk management strategies to safeguard data security and integrity.
  • Line managing and leading staff in information management roles as required.

Typical Working Week: 40 hours p/w with start time between 07:00 & 08:00 inclusive of paid 8 hours at college.

Minimum Requirements:

  • GCSE Grade 3 or above in English and Maths, or Functional Skills Level 1 or above.

Desired Requirements:

  • Previous experience or knowledge of construction, administration, engineering, or digital information management would be beneficial.
  • Confident use of ICT and Microsoft Office applications.

Key Training/College Information: K10 will enrol you on the Level 4 Information Manager apprenticeship and fund your qualification through an accredited training provider. The apprenticeship duration is typically 18-24 months.

Eligibility: To start this apprenticeship, you'll need to be:

  • Living in England for the last 3 years and have right to work status.
  • Not enrolled on any other courses.
  • 18+ due to site H&S rules.

To be eligible for the Heathrow Shared Apprenticeship Scheme, you must reside in one of the following regions:

  • Spelthorne
  • Windsor & Maidenhead
  • South Buckinghamshire
  • Elmbridge
  • Slough
